Letter Source: We received this letter twice, once on the 20th of August, 2005, from the UK, and again on the 27th of August, 2005, from Nigeria. It has nothing to do with China and is a form letter sold to scammers who then change the contact information before sending it out in bulk mail. The email background image of the small gray triangle in the upper left hand corner was very popular during August and September of 2005.
The Payment Processing Scam, originally created in the Former Soviet Union countries and now commonly arriving from Romania and Latvia, has become immensely popular. With the merger of Romanian and Nigerian scam rings, Nigerians have learned the tricks of the scam and have thrown themselves wholeheartedly into its use. We are now seeing these phony job offers arriving from all parts of the globe as scam ring leaders expand their reach selling their scam programs farther and farther afield. ____________________________________________________ Find out where emails are REALLY coming from. |
